Sony and Samsung LED LCD Techonology– Which is the Best TV for You?

LED LCD TV remains one of the most sought after technologies for anyone in the market for a new television, despite the elevated cost of these models. The Sony XBR8 series and the Samsung A950 LED LCD are the two models that have emerged as leaders in the market, even though a few other companies have produced notable sets.

The critical difference in price is fueled by the different LED technology used to light the television. There are hundreds of LED’s lighting the screen on each model; however, Sony employs an advanced tricolor LED technology, whereas the Samsung and LG use only white LED’s.

Their unique tricolor LED lighting consists of two green LED’s and one blue LED, commonly referred to as Sony Triluminous Technology. Sony contends that the resulting display has increased color clarity as a result of their technology. The high price on the shelf is most likely the result of their LED advancements.

You are probably now wondering which LED set is best for you. Will it be Sony’s pioneering tricolor system or Samsung’s single light LED?

LCD LED technology is still in the early stages, which means there will be many more advances in technology in the near future. That’s not to say you shouldn’t purchase that LED LCD TV you’ve been wanting– only that you should consider all of your options; if the technology is going to change relatively soon, it might not be wise to spend nearly double the price for something that will be outdated in a year’s time.

However, if you want the latest technology for your purchase of an LED LCD HDTV, then that advice might not apply to you. If you are financially able, Sony’s Triluminous Technology will probably visually appeal to you more than the others. On the other hand, if you would like to spend that $2,000 to $3,000 on other valuable additions to your home entertainment system, you will get an amazing bargain with outstanding picture quality with your Samsung purchase. Samsung has an established history of providing quality electronics to the marketplace, so you will never have to doubt the quality you are receiving.
